I was so excited to review this book! This children's book is applicable to our family as I am expecting another baby. The book did not disappoint! It is a beautiful hardback with engaging illustrations. In the book, the author speaks to young children about the questions, fears, and insecurities that are associated with their parents bringing a new baby into the home. The mother bear lovingly answers legitimate questions from her "Little Cub", including "If we don't like the new baby, can we send it back?" and others like it to encourage the child to focus on the positive aspects of having another sibling. The parents in the story also interweave God into their answers by reminding the little cub that God gave the little cub to them, as God has also given the family the new baby. I liked the book very much and would recommend it to anyone who is adding another sibling to the home. This would also be a great gift for a baby shower!
I received this book from Waterbrook Press. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 : “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
I saw this at a baby shower and had to have it! The illustrations are wonderful, and the book combines a little religion and a wonderful way for parents to explain the blessing of a second (or third...) sibling. We have enjoyed this book very much.
