In this book, the author, Phil Cooke, identifies a "Jolt" as a shock, a change, or a disturbance that shakes things up. This book offers practical solutions by topic and shows how to navigate through the complex and ever-changing world we live in, while realizing the ever-presence of God in our lives. The author's challenges aren't for those who are satisfied with mediocrity, or those who are unwilling to change their current thought processes. This book is for those who want to start to change for the better, and finish well. Negative perceptions and distractions are identified, and strategies for positive growth are discussed. The author encourages the reader to examine your life, enjoy the process, and become an influencer if you are not already one. The chapters in this book are easy to follow, fun to read, and contain just enough information to "be the chess player, not the chess piece." I enjoyed this book, and I think anyone that likes a motivational or self-help book will also enjoy it.
